Corona Update

It’s been a tricky few months! The barn remained empty (but well loved) during lockdown. However, we reopened on 4th July and have already had guests. In fact we are full until well into September now. Please look at our booking calendar to see current availability. Things do change, so feel free to contact us just in case.

As far as hygiene is concerned, we will be leaving a minimum of 2-3 days between guests before cleaning. Cleaning will be thorough using antibacterial products. Bedding and towels all have a 60 degree wash. We will leave a small supply of gloves for your use along with hand sanitiser/ wash. If you prefer to bring your own bedding & towels, feel free to do so, but let us know so we don’t make up the beds.

As regards our fabulous local The Star, who transformed into the ‘Starshop Enterprise’ during the lockdown (and still have a smaller shop running), they have also reopened. You will need to book in advance for meals or drinks inside and be prepared to leave your contact details. This does not apply for outside tables, but you will not be able to book these in advance. However, as we are only opposite, you should be able to check how busy they are fairly easily!

Looking forward to welcoming guests, regulars and new. Karen & Paul

Wedding No 2 for 2019!

Last weekend, the barn was honoured to host another wedding party! There was definitely a party atmosphere in there on Saturday as bride, bridesmaids and mother of the bride all changed into their wedding finery for the village ‘woodland wedding’ of Emma and Oliver in Emma’s grandparent’s garden. The bride looked stunning. After a great day, the happy couple spent a couple of nights in the barn. Emma has kindly allowed us to post a few pictures. Big thank you to the new Mr & Mrs for choosing the barn and we hope you have a fabulous honeymoon!

“For four friends who don’t get to see each other that much, this was the perfect weekend away in your lovely barn. We instant felt right at home with the barn having everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Karen was amazing and gave us lots of information before we arrived. Karen & Paul, you have a wonderful barn full of homely touches and we hope to stay again. ps thank you for the prosecco!”

“Our 4th time in 4 years at the Barn. Still the most relaxing place we’ve stayed at. Karen & Paul are always welcoming and happy to suggest new places to see/eat at. We managed a couple of short walks, with the weather, but didn’t do any more because the sofas and log burner enticed us back ‘home’. Lovely! The food at the Star Inn and is just as fresh / prompt / tasty / filling as ever and the staff (Ed & co) make you feel welcome. PS If you like scotch eggs of different types, then try The Star bar snacks. We’ll be back.”

“A great place for good friends to catch up after years apart! The walks up Bredon Hill, around Broadway Tower and the loop around Snowshill were the perfect antidote to excellent meals at The Star Inn and The Swan! Thank you, Karen for your warm welcome and excellent comms before we came. We were very comfortable. We hope to return!”

“I was slightly worried as I brought my girlfriend here for a surprise short break. Suffice to say, according to her, “You have set the bar too high!” We were both blown away by the barn. It was perfect for a couple of nights away. Immaculately clean, beautifully presented and full of small touches which just added to the experience. In short we loved staying at the Old Post House Barn and will definitely be back!”

“We have had a fantastic stay in the OPHB. The location was excellent as we had a family event at the pub across the road. The barn itself is fabulous, spotlessly clean, warm and inviting. We’ve enjoyed some lovely fires and it is so well equipped. We would stay here again if the need arises. Karen, you were so welcoming. Thank you.”

“Our first visit to The Old Post House Barn and hopefully we will be back again soon. A beautiful conversion and a very relaxing stay. Broadway is a lovely place and would recommend lunch at The Deli. Nice Sunday roast at the Star. Thanks very much, it’s been great.”

“We have throughly enjoyed our short break. The barn is a most comfortable and unique accommodation and Ashton under Hill is very well placed to explore this part of the Midlands. Thank you!”
