The Old Post House Barn

Beautiful self catering ‘cotswold getaway’

Lovely Cotswold barn conversion with ‘upside down living’, located in a pretty village.

The barn is situated in the heart of the pretty and friendly village of Ashton under Hill, which nestles at the foot of Bredon Hill and is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We are just inside the Worcestershire border with Gloucestershire. Bredon Hill, which is one of largest outlier Cotswolds in the area, has gorgeous views and is popular with walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders.

We have a variety of national and local paths and ways in close proximity. The Wychavon Way goes through the village and the Cotswold Way starts at Chipping Campden, a twenty minute drive away. Why not drive out to the Malverns, a beautiful and ancient range of hills with breathtaking views. If you are a gardener, there are many fine examples to visit including Hidcote Manor and Batsford Arboretum. Historians can root out Roman ruins at Chedworth and medieval castles in Warwick and Kenilworth.

  • “Special thanks from us all for Karen, in making sure everything was just perfect here at the barn- there is real attention to detail. We shall be spreading the news about this place Down Under!”

Corona Update

Corona Update

It’s been a tricky few months! The barn remained empty (but well loved) during lockdown. However, we reopened on 4th July and have already had guests. In fact we are full until well into September now. Please look at our booking calendar to see current availability. Things do change, so feel free to contact us just in case.

As far as hygiene is concerned, we will be leaving a minimum of 2-3 days between guests before cleaning. Cleaning will be thorough using antibacterial products. Bedding and towels all have a 60 degree wash. We will leave a small supply of gloves for your use along with hand sanitiser/ wash. If you prefer to bring your own bedding & towels, feel free to do so, but let us know so we don’t make up the beds.

As regards our fabulous local The Star, who transformed into the ‘Starshop Enterprise’ during the lockdown (and still have a smaller shop running), they have also reopened. You will need to book in advance for meals or drinks inside and be prepared to leave your contact details. This does not apply for outside tables, but you will not be able to book these in advance. However, as we are only opposite, you should be able to check how busy they are fairly easily!

Looking forward to welcoming guests, regulars and new. Karen & Paul

Wedding No 2 for 2019!

Wedding No 2 for 2019!

Last weekend, the barn was honoured to host another wedding party! There was definitely a party atmosphere in there on Saturday as bride, bridesmaids and mother of the bride all changed into their wedding finery for the village ‘woodland wedding’ of Emma and Oliver in Emma’s grandparent’s garden. The bride looked stunning. After a great day, the happy couple spent a couple of nights in the barn. Emma has kindly allowed us to post a few pictures. Big thank you to the new Mr & Mrs for choosing the barn and we hope you have a fabulous honeymoon!
